Pitching Series: Michael Cantu

The baseball season was coming to an end and I haven’t seen my nephew, Michael, play this year. My younger brother, Matthew, called me up and told me Michael was pitching. It’s been at least 3 or 4 years since I shot my nephew playing baseball and that’s way too long. As soon as I got there old memories came flashing back of my younger days playing baseball on the same field. It didn’t take long to get “warmed up” with my camera gear and find a couple of good shooting spots.

Michael did a great job pitching for his first year as a starting pitcher. Matthew taught him well. Pump fastballs and changes speeds, but under no circumstances was he allowed to throw “junk.” I am very proud of you, Michael! Not only are you a good ball player, but more importantly, you are a great student in school and a wonderful person. I am proud to call you my nephew.

Because Michael is all those things, I wanted to create a special surprise for him. He thinks I was just there to “take pictures.” This is the poster I created from a series of photos. Surprise! We hope you like it, Michael. We love you!

[MLLBA, Magnolia]: TB5 Athletics – Luke Sellers

Mark Sellers called on us to create another poster for his son, Luke. I really love creating these posters for our clients. It gives me a chance to take the photos from their games and turn them into art for the parents and kids. This is the latest poster we created for Luke. Below the poster are the photos from his game that I used to create it. Thank you Mark!

[MLLBA, Magnolia]: TB5 Red Sox, Zackary

Zackary and Mia (his older sister by only 10 months!) play tee-ball. One is having a blast and wants to continue. The other is not as enthusiastic. These highlight photos are a clue. 🙂

The Red Sox played the Athletics again on Thursday evening. Jamie, Zackary’s mom, heard about us through Sandra, Baylee’s mom, (see the April 14 post with a beautiful little girl in a pink helmet) and asked us to take action photos at his game. He got a couple hits and scored some runs. Sonny had the most fun watching the “many faces of Zackary!”

Jamie, thank you for inviting us out to Zackary’s game! He is adorable!! We hope you enjoy all of the photos. Feel free to post some comments, use the Sharing is caring links below the slideshow, and click Like on our Facebook page. We can’t wait to see you again for the family session!

That is great, Jamie! Michelle and I are thrilled you love your photos.

[MLLBA, Magnolia]: TB5 Athletics

We met Mark last year when his son, Luke, played in the Tee Ball 4 division for the MLLBA. We are flattered that you loved your photos & poster from last year. We are even happier you chose us again to photograph Luke’s game last Saturday. 🙂 Thank you Mark!

This is the poster we created for Luke using photos from last year’s game.

Luke moved up to the Tee Ball 5 division and playing for the Athletics a 2nd year. As luck would have it, the rain stopped one hour before game time. The weather was perfect when the Athletics defeated the Red Sox in a shootout at Little League Park in Magnolia. These little guys and gals have fun no matter what the scoreboard reads. For this reason, it makes my job so much fun!
